Things I Love Continued...

With the school budget the way it is, field trips are not really an option. However, never fear a FIELD TRIP IS ALWAYS NEAR. Virtual field trips are a wonderful way to expose the children to so many places without spending any money. The possibilities are endless. We can take a trip to the Louvre, or visit an animal wildlife conservatory in South Africa...better yet we can travel to outer space!  Our class has been taking advantage of virtual field trips thanks to our Instructional Technology Support Teacher, Mr. Ostafew. He has been putting together virtual experiences for our students as well as creating a unique classroom environment full of plants, artifacts and travel gear for the students to see. I have never heard so many OOOOOooos and AHHHHHHs as we learned and traveled to outer space, went through the water cycle imagining we were a drop of water, and visited a variety of animal habitats. Tomorrow we will be visiting different communities from around the world.
LOVE IT!
