Proud Authors

One thing my class loves to do is write. I believe they have developed a love for writing because we explore many different forms of writing, peek a variety of interests, and read plenty of books to give us guidance. We recently entered 2 writing contests with our persuasive letters. My class worked with our Art teacher to create the lovely illustrations that went along with our letters. Our writing topic was to write a persuasive letter to someone you live with convincing them to allow you to have a wild animal as a pet. Our letters blended our imagination and our research skills. Each student researched a wild animal of their choice(using a kid friendly online search engine...www.kidrex.org)so that we could present facts in our letter and write really good convincing points. These letters taught us that it doesn't matter how many sentences you have, but to be proud on how well written and how much effort is put in to your work.
